Dr. Valerie Temple is a Clinical Psychologist and the Professional Practice Leader for Psychological Services at Surrey Place in Toronto, Ontario. Surrey Place is a provincially funded agency serving individuals of all ages with intellectual and developmental disabilities such as autism, fetal alcohol spectrum disorder (FASD), and visual impairments. Dr. Temple has worked in the field of disabilities for over 20 years and published more than 25 articles and book chapters on the assessment and treatment of adults with developmental disabilities. She has served for over 15 years with the MMW Videoconferencing Program which provides psychological assessment services to remote communities in Northwestern Ontario via telehealth. Dr. Temple is the clinical lead for the Adult FASD team at Surrey Place and a member of the Surrey Place Psychology Internship committee which supports two psychology residents yearly at the agency. Dr. Temple also holds an Adjunct faculty position at Brock University in the Department of Disability Studies.
