Date & Time
Thursday, November 24, 2022, 10:30 AM - 11:40 AM
Dr. Candice Monson
Description

By now, posttraumatic stress disorder has been established as one of the most treatable mental health conditions, and trauma-focused therapies are the front-line recommended treatments in guidelines worldwide. Yet, medications are the most offered treatment, and research shows that up to 40% of talk therapists are offering treatments that have not been shown to work or are iatrogenic. This presentation will shed light on client preferences regarding treatment for PTSD, and raise factors likely leading to the science-practice chasm. A vision for the future of treatment for trauma- and stress-related conditions will be offered.
