Incidences of eating disorders rose substantially during the course of the pandemic with limited available treatment programs to support recovery. With more individuals presenting to outpatient private settings, accurate diagnosis, conceptualization and treatment planning for eating disorders is imperative for successful outcomes. Special considerations include: adopting a critical social perspective of individuals’ unique lived body experiences,  the involvement of parents and other allied health professionals, balancing ethical and health-based treatment needs, and the role of re-traumatization in treatment.
